Luminous intellect of a sidelined genius

Image
Walking every morning  and evening across his Makbarah near Metro station  Jama Masjid Delhi  during my Delhi University days ,it  often crossed my mind that  how unjust & ungrateful we have been in conferring him honour he deserved.    Now traversing across some introductory landscape of works written by and written on Moulana Azad ,I again  still more strongly  wonder how awfully we've  failed to grasp his tremendous role in socio-religious, political ,educational development and significance of  his universalist thought for united India. What accounts for this cold disregard ? Well ,the origin of this as a  personal awakening, to a certain extent, may be  based on my own ignorance or possibly my late discovery of his genius to an appreciative extent  due to my upbringing in an environment where Azad is not even properly mentioned let alone kept in hall of fame.In fact , even objectively  ironically an...

On optimism

Talking to a friend other day about mental attitude towards problems we face ,we reached a conclusion that how we approach problems is more important than problems themselves .If we can't really change everything ,we can change a lot ,but with a proper mental attitude .Problems and conflicts are unavoidable  but our mental attitude is our own choice .BUT that's not it.Well, not that simple ,we all go through problems where nothing seems to work and that is a phase of necessary experience making us grow stronger .As research proves -dangerous , odd  and tough new situations activate set of genes that make our brain grow more intelligent and wise .So this necessary experience is not of no worth ,as Nietzsche would say ,''that which doesn't kill us,makes us stronger "

On productivity part 1

These days I am consciously studying and applying productivity ,particularly after studying Ali Abdaal -one of the most followed productivity coach .Ali has got a different perspective on productivity which he spells as 'feel good productivity' Unlike traditional aspects of productivity which include bulky and hard terms like hard work and discipline ,ALI tries and make them feel lighter .How can we make our work fun ?Whenever you have a hard task to do just imagine how would you make it look fun ?This changes things to a great extent .We must not bring boredom to tasks we perform but make them fun so that we acheive more without suffering a lot.But that's not the whole mantra ,there are lot of other things that acts as blockers in the process, however evidence does suggest that it helps to a good extent in short term.In the first part he writes about play, power and fun .By power he means talking or associating with people who have successfully gone through, helping us to ...

Cricket Fever

As like millions of other cricket feverish Indian boys ,it was my passionately favorite sport after school.Married men & young boys enjoyed playing equally & together  in our local playground .It is one of those ingrained evenings that would remain vivid for life in my memory. Match had reached an exciting turn , a thronging crowd of spectators sat circling the wicket keeper. They sat like people sit relaxed after a challenging task i.e. their day's work, farming ,school .......life was care free those days .A middle-aged bowler had to bowl three balls & our team had 12 runs to win !  And guess what I as a tiny  class 7 student was on strike .My heart pounded my ribs, pressure was excruciating ,people expected, cheered & told me to ''keep their team's  honour".As the bowler ,more than two decades older than me,started run up my kid heart nearly exploded ,yet I ,to my surprise had a creative idea ,guess what ! I reverse swept it to  4 .Noise...
